What Is ABA Therapy

What Is ABA Therapy?

ABA Therapy is the science recommended by the U.S. Surgeon General and American Academy of Pediatrics for the treatment of Autism. Children with Autism can have deficits in the areas of language, social skills, daily living skills as well as exhibit problematic behaviors. ABA Therapy addresses these issues by using researched evidenced based treatments that increase language, social skills, and daily living skills while reducing and/or eliminating problematic behaviors.

Often focusing heavily on language development and its related impact on social skills, ABA Therapy is provided for children with Autism even as young as 2 years old. We begin 1:1 with our clinical staff to find the deficits and fill in the gaps that your child is struggling with.

Who provides ABA Therapy?

Providing therapy directly to your child from our nationally certified staff of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who specialize in the area(s) of need for your child. We provide center based ABA therapy in our Ottawa clinic with your child while receiving the support, training, information and even parent training from our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).

Where can ABA Therapy be done?

ABA Therapy can be done in a clinical, home, or even in the community for some individuals. We provide ABA therapy in our clinic in Ottawa which has multiple therapy rooms, an indoor gym, a reading area, an art & craft center, a cafeteria, and an outdoor fenced-in playground. In addition, we participate in community outings at least monthly so that children can practice the skills within these environments.
